Ouai Hair Oil is a great multitasking hair oil. Suitable for all hair types. Lightweight and buildable. Prevents breakage and smooths out frizz. The Holy Grail of hair oil.
This Ouai Hair oil uses their Rue St. Honore scent. The scent is a mix of violet, gardenia, ylang ylang and white musk. A heavenly mix of florals that will leave your hair smelling amazing.
I love to use it when blow drying my freshly washed hair. It leaves my long thick hair incredibly shiny. Even with my thick hair, a little goes a long way.
You can apply a couple of drops to wet or dry hair. Comb the oil through your strands and style. You can apply more as needed for thicker hair.
I have long thick naturally curly hair. I get Brazillian Blowouts every three months. I was using a shampoo and conditioner that I love and still love. Yet, recently my scalp kept feeling itchy and irritated even after a fresh wash.
Now this does not happen to me a lot and I have a hunch that a lot of it is product buildup. I decided to do a little research. The most common causes of itchy scalp is seborrheic dermatitis. This is caused by an overgrowth of yeast on the scalp. For mild cases this can be treated with over the counter selenium and zinc pyrithione. So, I sought out to find a shampoo with one of these ingredients free of sulfates, parabens, and other nasty ingredients.
Jupiter Balancing Shampoo seemed to check all the boxes as it contains zinc pyrithione and lots of natural ingredients to help balance and remove buildup. The nourishing conditioner contains soothing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal to help calm the scalp.
I plan to use this shampoo for several washes before returning to my usual shampoo that does tame my hair a little better. Jupiter shampoo and conditioner did calm my scalp and drastically reduced the itching and irritation after one one wash. The zinc pyrithione in the shampoo combined with ingredients like colloidal oatmeal in the conditioner calmed my irritated scalp and reduced the itching by 95% after my first wash. This product is also great for all hair types.
I was kindly gifted Not Your Mothers Curl Talk bond building shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask. I was excited to try because I have curly thick hair. I do get Brazillian blowouts every three to four months, but my hair still has a curl until styled. What I like most about this product is that it is silicone and sulfate free. The product is at a good price point and is easily accesible. You can buy these at your local Target, drugstore, or even Amazon.
Let us go over my experience using the products. I first began with the shampoo. I loved the way it lathered up. While, it did lather well, I found myself using a large amount to cover my hair. The smell was not unpleasant and very faint. This would be good for someone sensitive to fragrance. I did expect my hair to feel a bit more hydrated afterwards. Last but not least, after fully cleansing and rinsing my hair, I applied the hair mask. I let it sit for about five minutes before rinsing. This was more hydrating than the conditioner.
My final take, is that the product is a good option for someone that wants a curly hair friendly product. You may find yourself using up the product earlier than most if your hair is super thick. However, at the reasonable price point it would likely be worth it.
Currently, I am using a salon brand product which I feel is not a fair comparison. I would see myself purchasing the bond building hair mask again. This is a good option for many and clearly curly girl friendly.
Pureology’s Style + Protect Refresh & Go Dry Shampoo is my go to dry shampoo. It absorbs oil without drying out your hair. It adds movement and light texture. This product provides great protection for chemically treated hair.
Pureology’s Style + Protect Reresh and Go dry shampoo is sulfate free. It is also made without parabens, phtalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. The dry shampoo is also 100% vegan and made with less than 1% synthetic fragrance.
The dry shampoo absorbs all of the oil, dirt, and buildup. The hair is left more refreshed and revived. You spray it evenly onto your dry hair focusing on the roots and then brush through really good.
I definitely reccomend this dry shampoo by Pureology to anyone. It’s especially important for those with colored or chemically treated hair. You can find this product at Ulta, Sephora, Amazon, or directly from Pureology.
My hair is naturally curly, but I like to wear it very smooth and straight. I get Brazilian Blowouts every ten to twelve weeks. The Brazillian Blowout Shampoo and conditioner are great. I still use Brazillian Blowout styling products, but for my thick curly hair, Pureology Smooth Perfection shampoo and conditioner smooth my hair out the best.
Pureology Smooth Perfection shampoo and conditioner tame the frizz and calm my hair. The formula has shea butter to smooth the hair and sesame oils to keep the hair hydrated. Also in the formula is Camelia oil to fight frizz at the very source.
This unique compound also contains an exclusive Thermal Anti-fade complex to keep the hair shiny and healthy. The Pureology line is sulfate-free and helps maintain color and chemically treated hair. After washing, conditioning, and styling, my hair is a lot smoother and sleeker. I would definitely reccomend this product for those who want to tame frizzy and or color/chemically treated hair.
The Dyson Supersonic Blow dryer has revolutionized the conventional way we think of and use a blow dryer. For me, it is a time saver. I have thick curly hair. The comb attachment, easily helps me dry and straighten out my hair simultaneously.
The diffuser attachment, literally sucks out all the moisture, my wet hair holds. I am literally done in 20 minutes, and then I run a flat iron through my hair, to smooth out all the bumps. This makes it well worth the investment. The blow dryer works on all hair types.
